MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A dead man and a suspected pipe bomb were found inside an Oakland, Tennessee, home, prompting a large multi-agency response Saturday morning.

According to Oakland Police, the home is located on Chestnut Ridge at Highway 194. A deputy told WREG that authorities were called to the scene after a loved one found a man dead inside the home.

During their investigation, the deputy said authorities also found what appeared to be a pipe bomb in the house. A bomb squad was then called to the area.

The deputy also mentioned that police have been called to the residence before.

At this time, Oakland Police are still urging people to avoid the area and find an alternate route.
