Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) staged UFC Sacramento last night (Sat., Aug. 22, 2026) live online via Paramount+ inside Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif., which saw Gregory Rodrigues defeat Anthony Hernandez via unanimous decision (recap here). In the co-main event of the evening, Vitor Petrino defeated Serghei Spivac, also by unanimous decision.

Biggest Winner: Reinier de Ridder

Coming into the event, de Ridder earned our spot for the fighter who needed a win the most. After all, “The Dutch Knight” had lost his last two fights and a third straight defeat would have sent him tumbling further down the rankings, moving him further away from the championship chase. Thankfully, de Ridder found his groove again after demolishing Dolidze with a vicious ground-and-pound attack with one minute left in the opening frame (see it again here). With the win, de Ridder earned some much-needed breathing room and a sigh of relief to go with it, avoiding the longest losing streak of his career.

Runner Up: Gregory Rodriguez

Rodriguez is another one of our big winners after beating up Hernandez over the course of 25 minutes in what was an all-out war. Indeed, “Robocop” bruised up “Fluffy’s” legs with his devastating low kicks. For his efforts, he walked away with a cool $100,000 post-fight bonus award (as did Hernandez) for delivering a nice performance. Rodrigues has now racked up four straight wins, which will give him a huge bump in the rankings. He will be feeling the effects of this war, but the big upset win and post-fight bonus will ease the pain for a bit.

Biggest Loser: Anthony Hernandez

Losing two in a row is never fun. Hernandez was hoping to return to the win column following his loss to Sean Strickland, but ultimately came up short in the quest after getting battered by Rodriguez for 25 minutes. It’s a bad dropoff for “Fluffy,” who went on an eight-fight unbeaten streak from 2021 to 2025. While his performance in defeat was valiant, he will be going into his next fight with a lot of pressure because a third straight defeat will be devastating for his goals of ever competing for a world title. He has the ability to turn it around, he just needs to get back to what worked for him during his win streak.
