Angelina Yonan Crowned Miss Oakland County 2026
Farmington Hills, MI — Angelina Yonan, 18, of Macomb, was crowned Miss Oakland County 2026 at the annual competition held August 8. Yonan, a second‑year Business Administration student at Oakland University, earned a $1,000 education scholarship. She also received the Kirsten Haglund Foundation On‑Stage Conversation Award ($100 scholarship), along with several additional gifts and prizes.
Yonan is pursuing a double major in Marketing and Journalism at Oakland University. Her community service initiative, “Finding Purpose: Empowering Youth Through Extracurricular Engagement,” focuses on helping young people build confidence, resilience, and meaningful connections beyond the digital world.
She will represent Oakland County at the 2027 Miss Michigan Competition in Muskegon next June.
First Runner Up: Cynthia Cao, 19, of Rochester Hills, earned a $450 scholarship toward her degree in Business of Science, Information at the University of Michigan. She also received the Samantha Steckloff Community Service, Vivian Zhong Talent, and Miss America Scholar Awards, totaling $700 in additional scholarships.
Second Runner Up: Sydney Jaworski, 21, of Farmington, received a $300 scholarship and won the People’s Choice Award.
Third Runner Up: Janelle Reiff, 25, of St. Clair Shores, earned a $150 scholarship. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University and is employed at Daifuku North America.
“We once again witnessed the character, service, scholarship, and talent of the next generation of young women,” said Francesca Tuzzolino, Executive Director. “I wish to thank our many sponsors and volunteers, without whom we would not be able to make thousands of scholarship dollars available to Miss Oakland County contestants each year.”
The Miss Oakland County Scholarship Program is a preliminary competition to Miss Michigan and Miss America. It provides scholarship opportunities to women who live, work, or attend school in Oakland County. The Miss America Opportunity is the largest scholarship provider for young women ages 18–28, awarding more than $20 million annually.

Scarlett Schultz, 15, of Portage, was crowned Miss Oakland County’s Teen 2026 at the August 8 competition. She will compete at Miss Michigan’s Teen 2027 next June.
Her community service initiative, “Your Story Isn’t Over,” encourages teens to speak up, seek help, and raise awareness around suicide prevention and mental health. Schultz also won the Leilani Thorn Talent Award ($75 scholarship), sponsored by the Corsi Family, along with several additional gifts and prizes.
