With summer winding down, Los Angeles still has a few weeks left to squeeze in outdoor events before the season officially gives way to fall. From open-air concerts to water parks, late August and early September are bringing some of the last big things to do of the season, and one of them is taking over an entire L.A. neighborhood.
Echo Park Rising returns this weekend
2026 marks the festival’s 16th year, taking over Echo Park on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30. The free, all-ages festival brings music, art, comedy, and family-friendly programming to venues and businesses throughout the neighborhood. No tickets or reservations are required.
Rather than taking place at one central festival ground, the event spreads across dozens of local venues and businesses. Some participating locations include:

More than 50 artists are on the lineup
The weekend features more than 50 artists, including Indigo De Souza, The Aquadolls, Uffie, Telescreens, Primer, Ryan Pollie, The Sophs, Sugar Pit, Valley Boy and Drelli. Visitors can also catch art installations, comedy and family-friendly programming throughout the festival.
On Saturday morning, the Echo Park Tennis Courts will host a free tennis session from 8 to 10 a.m., with coaches, drills and racquets available. Participating restaurants and bars will offer specials, brunches, DJ sets and pop-ups, while the Echo Park Farmers’ Market will host a Friday, August 28 kickoff with live music starting at 4:30 p.m.
Echo Park Rising originally grew out of an impromptu street fair celebrating local artists and businesses before becoming an annual showcase of L.A.’s creative community. This year also marks the festival’s first return to a full two-day format since the pandemic.
