BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man was found shot on Sumner Street early Tuesday morning after a ShotSpotter was alerted.
The Bakersfield Police Department said on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, at around 1:08 a.m., officers were called to the 600 block of Sumner Street in response to a ShotSpotter alert.
When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound lying on the sidewalk.
The victim was declared dead at the scene by medical aid, according to police.
Homicide investigators assumed the investigation.
Police said at this time, there have been no arrests, and there is no suspect information.
