A piece of Central Fresno history was shattered in December when a driver crashed into a century-old pillar at Palm and Simpson.
But now, nearly 8 months later, the pillar welcoming people to the Fresno High neighborhood has been restored—and it’s time to celebrate!
Sequoia Brewing Company in the Tower District is hosting a celebration Wednesday, unveiling a special beer for a special cause.
The brewery has created Pillar of the Community Pilsner to raise money for efforts to help the nonprofit “Fresno High Neighborhood Committee.”
Each can features artwork showing the pillar—one of four that people in the area consider a source of community pride.
Each 32-ounce can costs $10, and only 200 were made.
The party gets underway at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26th.
If you can’t make it, you can buy remaining cans at Sequoia Brewing at 777 E. Olive Avenue in Fresno.
