The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Scholarship Fund recently announced the recipients of its Class of 2026 scholarship awards, which includes Brandon Foronda of Fontana.

Foronda is the son of Frank Foronda, a member of Teamsters Local 952 employed by CVS Pharmacy. He is a recent graduate of Jurupa Hills High and will attend the University of California, Berkeley in the fall. Teamsters Local 952 represents more than 8300 members locally in a variety of industries. The Teamsters Scholarship Fund proudly awards 600 $2,000 scholarships each year, and in just three short years, more than 1,600 scholarships have been awarded. The money raised for the Teamsters Scholarship Fund comes from the generosity of Teamsters local unions, Joint Councils and member service providers. The Teamsters do not allow any employers to donate to the Scholarship Fund.

Teamsters scholarships are awarded to high school seniors planning to enroll in four-year college after graduation, community college transfer students, and students who plan to attend trade or vocational schools. Applicants must be the daughter, son, or financial dependent of a Teamster.

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.3 million hardworking people in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Visit Teamster.org for more information. Follow us on Twitter @Teamsters and “like” on Facebook at Facebook.com/teamsters.
