Over the course of the summer John Palmer, Vice Commander of Decker-Simmons American Legion Post #51, Oakland, led a team of talented members of the post in the task of tearing out the old bathroom in the rental hall and building a new, bigger and ADA compliant set of bathrooms, all of the labor and much of the material were donated by local businesses. The hall is used for birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations of life and many other functions. This upgrade makes having a function here a much better experience. F.W. Webb, The Home Depot, Oakland Electrical Supply, Zimba Co., Sherwin-Williams, Gregory’s Disposal, Stanley’s Septic & Construction, along with Jeff and Lisa Stevens, Post #51 owes you a huge thank you.
