(KRON) — “Woodstock,” the beloved, bright yellow ferry that shuttles people back and forth between Alameda and Oakland’s Jack London Square, was back in service Wednesday. The 31-passenger vessel had been out of service since Aug. 5 due to engine issues.
Last week, the San Francisco Bay Ferry said that ferry would be out of service until at least Friday, Aug. 21. That deadline came and went, and the former Niagara Falls tour boat was still out of action.

However, as of Wednesday at 7:20 a.m., Woodstock had resumed service, according to the SF Bay Ferry website.
Woodstock, the vessel to become the Alameda-Oakland water shuttle, arrives at Jack London Square to begin final modifications. The vessel is scheduled to take passengers from Bohol Circle Park across to Oakland at the end of June.
Woodstock runs daily from 7:20 a.m. until 7:48 p.m. from Monday through Friday and from 7:20 a.m. through 9:43 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The pontoon boat ferries passengers back and forth between Jack London Square and Alameda Landing, near Target on 5th Street.
Recently, the pilot ferry program, which was introduced in 2024, was extended through 2028.
