RUSSELL COUNTY, Va. (WCYB) — A dog that once faced an uncertain future at a kill shelter in California is now working the streets of Southwest Virginia as a police K-9.
K-9 Nova is serving with the Russell County, Virginia, Sheriff’s Office alongside Deputy Erik Hinchey. The deputy and Nova recently shared how the dog’s journey from being cast away at a California shelter led to a new role in law enforcement in Russell County.
