J. Cole’s Golden 1 Center concert canceled after crew member dies in I-5 crash
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
J. Cole’s Sacramento concert has been canceled hours before the hip-hop was supposed to perform due to the death of a touring crew in a crash, according to the Golden 1 Center.
“Following the tragic passing of a member of the touring crew in a trucking accident this morning, J. Cole’s show scheduled tonight, Aug. 27, at Golden 1 Center has been canceled,” the downtown Sacramento venue said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the crew member’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
A crash involving the big rig carrying J. Cole’s concert equipment happened Thursday morning in Yolo County. The big rig overturned along Interstate 5 between the Zamora and Dufour areas and northwest of Woodland, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Guests who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically, the Golden 1 Center said. Remaining guests may seek refunds at their original point of purchase.
