Man hospitalized after shooting in California neighborhood; person of interest detained

A man is in the hospital after a shooting in the California neighborhood Friday afternoon, and police say they have a person of interest detained.

Around 3:30 p.m., LMPD responded to the 2200 block of Garland Avenue. There, they found a man who had been shot in the leg.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said a person of interest has been detained in connection to the shooting.

LMPD’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is leading the investigation.
