ESPN analyst Greg McElroy believes Fresno State can make the College Football Playoff after winning the newly formed Pac-12 Conference
McElroy predicted that the Bulldogs would beat Boise State at Valley Children’s Stadium, thus winning the Pac-12.
McElroy predicted on Aug. 27 and doubled down again on Saturday.
“If there was a school I’m rolling the dice on, it’s Fresno State,” he said on air. “No one is talking about them. I’m telling you, they can pound the football. New Pac-12, they’re gonna be able to run it on everybody. Boise will be a challenge, but they get them at home.”
If his prediction comes true, he has the Bulldogs facing Texas in the first round.
Fresno State has a healthy Bryson Donelson back, along with Rayshon Luke. Together, the two running backs rushed for 1,302 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. If both are available, then there’s a good chance his prediction could turn into a reality.
