The Del Mar Women’s Giving Collective (DMWGC) is celebrating its first decade of bringing Del Mar women together to make a meaningful difference throughout San Diego County.
As DMWGC prepares to kick off its 10th annual giving cycle this September, the all-volunteer nonprofit is celebrating another record of generosity. During the 2025/2026 giving cycle, members collectively awarded $113,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations, including Pathways to Citizenship, Just in Time for Foster Youth, and Doors of Change, bringing DMWGC’s cumulative charitable giving since its founding to more than $600,000, a news release stated.
“Celebrating our first decade is an exciting milestone for the Del Mar Women’s Giving Collective,” said Beth Davidson, president, DMWGC, in the news release. “What began as an idea with a handful of women from our community to come together around philanthropy, has grown into an organization of more than 100 members that has directed hundreds of thousands of dollars to deserving nonprofits throughout San Diego County.”
“Our members have the opportunity not only to give, but to learn about the needs in our region, meet the people and organizations working to address those needs, and collectively decide where our grants can make the greatest impact,” Davidson added in the news release. “We are especially excited to continue to grow as we begin our second decade.”
DMWGC brings together charitable-minded women who live in the 92014 ZIP code. Members make an annual contribution of $1,100, with $1,000 from each membership pooled for charitable grants. Members participate directly in nominating, evaluating and selecting nonprofit organizations to receive funding each year.
DMWGC’s grant-making process gives members an opportunity to learn firsthand about nonprofit organizations serving the San Diego community while leveraging their individual contributions to create a significantly greater collective impact.
Over its first decade, DMWGC has supported a wide variety of local nonprofit organizations, with a particular emphasis on programs benefiting women and children, and addressing critical needs throughout San Diego County, the news release stated.
As an entirely volunteer-led organization, DMWGC has continued to grow while maintaining its original mission: encouraging women to think strategically about philanthropy, inspiring meaningful generosity and creating opportunities for neighbors and friends to learn, give and make a difference together.
