Former Savannah Steel guard Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda signs with Los Angeles Sparks
SAVANNAH, Ga. —
Former Savannah Steel guard Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda has signed a WNBA player development contract with the Los Angeles Sparks, the team announced.
Mwenentanda appeared in 10 games during the Steel’s inaugural season, averaging 5.9 points per game.
Before joining the Steel, Mwenentanda played her final college season at Vanderbilt. She started all 34 games and averaged 6.9 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 47.2% from the field.
Mwenentanda helped the Commodores finish 29-5 and advance to the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 for the first time in 17 years.
She played her first three college seasons at Texas, appearing in 103 games and making 18 starts. As a junior, she helped the Longhorns reach the 2025 Final Four. Mwenentanda averaged 9 points and shot 59.3% from the field during the NCAA Tournament.
Mwenentanda is the first player in Savannah Steel history to reach the WNBA and the third in UPSHOT League history to receive a WNBA opportunity.
