WB I-696 ramps to I-75 in Oakland County to reopen

After about six months, the westbound ramps on I-696 to I-75 are expected to reopen on Monday.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) reported that the ramps on westbound I-696 to northbound and southbound I-75 will open “sometime” on Monday, Aug. 31.

Six workers injured in incident at Ford Field following Ed Sheeran concert Saturday night

Six people were hurt Saturday night in the load-out after the Ed Sheeran concert at Ford Field. Photos given to Local 4 show the accident involving equipment being used to tear down the stage.

Local 4 spoke to one of the workers who was hit by one of the pieces of equipment. He was released from the hospital on Sunday after being there overnight. He asked to stay anonymous, but another worker in the building sent photos of what things looked like after the accident.

Macomb County to begin removal of invasive phragmites along roadways

An effort to stop invasive plant species from spreading along Macomb County roadways is expected to begin on Monday as part of the county’s annual treatment program.

The Macomb County Department of Roads is partnering with the Lake St. Clair Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) to remove invasive phragmites — a perennial reed grass typically found near wetlands — from the right of way of approximately 55 miles of county roadways.

‘Unprovoked and Unimaginable’: 15-year-old charged in fatal Detroit liquor store shooting

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced charges on Saturday morning against the teenager involved in last weekend’s fatal shooting at a Detroit liquor store.

15-year-old Isaiah Lamar Gordon was formally charged as an adult with one count of first-degree murder, three counts of assault with intent to murder, and four counts of felony firearm in connection with a pair of shootings last Friday night.

The first was the shooting that killed 60-year-old Faith Williams and injured her niece, 20-year-old Katriana Cowan, last Friday night, August 21, at the Eastside Liquor store at the corner of E. Warren and Nottingham.

4Warn Weather: Active weather pattern with chances for rain and storms continues in Metro Detroit

After a soggy end to the weekend with most everyone seeing a healthy dose of rain showers, the active weather pattern looks to continue looking ahead into the start of the work week.

The wet weather looks to continue into the start of the week on Monday, we will keep the chance of scattered rain showers into the forecast much like we’re looking at for the end of the weekend on Sunday. High temperatures are forecast to get a little warmer throughout the day. High temperatures warming into the mid upper 80s by Monday afternoon.
