The “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” rollercoaster has the green light.
Universal Studios Hollywood’s first outdoor, high-speed coaster will open to the public on Sept. 16, the park announced Monday.
The thrill ride with rotating cars that drew inspiration from the cars in the films celebrates the “Fast & Furious” franchise. The ride is located on the upper lot with a red brick garage-themed structure.
The track soars over parts of the park and the escalator that connects the upper and lower lots.
The ride features 360-degree rotation technology designed to deliver the sensation of drifting cars. Guests will spin in motion at speeds up to 72 mph on 4,100 feet of aerial track, or about 12 football fields.
The ride features two trains of vehicles seating 16 people in each train.
