A Long Beach man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle involved.
At about 5:50 a.m. Sunday, 36-year-old Jimmy Alexander Mero of Long Beach was found lying on 1st Street, west of Cleveland Avenue. Mero was taken by ambulance to Gulfport Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Based on surveillance video, the suspect vehicle is believed to be a truck or SUV. Police are asking residents in the area of the incident who may have video footage or additional information that could help identify the suspect vehicle to call the Long Beach Police Department at 228-865-1981 or Crimestoppers at 877-787-5898.
