Jake Reiner, son of the late Rob and Michele Reiner, is a married man.

The 35-year-old tied the knot with his girlfriend, Maria Gilfillan, at the beginning of August, according to a report from TMZ.
It is unknown how long the couple was engaged before the big day. Jake last posted a photo with Maria on Instagram in October 2025.
The news comes just days after Jake’s first television interview since the loss of his parents, who were murdered allegedly at the hands of his brother, Nick Reiner.
Speaking with KABC in Los Angeles about the tragedy, Jake said his sadness “manifests into rage, into how unfair this was, how I didn’t get a say in what happened. I didn’t get to stop it from happening. I had no choice in the matter. I just have to accept the reality of it. And to me, that is just one of the most infuriating parts of all of this.”

Nick Reiner is accused by prosecutors of stabbing his parents to death inside their Brentwood, Calif. home on December 14, 2025. He was indicted by a grand jury earlier this month on two counts of first-degree murder. Nick has pleaded not guilty.
The 32-year-old is also facing a new alleged special circumstance of lying in wait, in addition to the use of a knife.

Jake spoke about Nick’s arrest briefly in the interview but declined to go in depth or answer direct questions about the situation.
“I mean, he’s in jail so you know, it’s like I physically lost my parents and then Nick was arrested and now it’s just me and [my sister] Romy,” Jake said.

Nick is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing on September 15. If convicted, he faces the possibility of death or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Jake wrote about the pain of his parents missing major milestones like his wedding in a Substack essay published in April.
“I was robbed of so many things that day. My parents won’t be at my wedding, they won’t get to hold their future grandchild, and they won’t get to see me have the successful career I’m still seeking. It simultaneously breaks my heart and enrages me,” he wrote.

He continued, “Nothing can prepare you for what it feels like to lose both parents instantly at the same time. It’s too devastating to comprehend. I still wake up every morning having to convince myself that, no, it’s not a dream. This truly is my living nightmare.”
