Mayor Karen Bass’s Inside Safe program completed its 140th operation Monday in the Palms neighborhood, bringing nearly 20 people experiencing homelessness into temporary housing.
The operation targeted a longstanding encampment at the intersection of Venice Boulevard and Glendon Avenue. City officials said participants received onsite medical support and personal care items. The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority also provided shelter for people living in nearby encampments amid extreme heat.
Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky, whose district includes the area, said 19 people moved indoors.
