Kaiser nurses in California picket over staffing levels and use of AI
Nurses at 22 Kaiser Permanente hospitals across California held informational pickets on Tuesday as part of ongoing contract negotiations.
The union representing the nurses said the key issues being addressed include staffing levels, pay, and concerns about the increased use of artificial intelligence technology.
Kaiser Permanente stated that AI is being used to support nurses.
“Kaiser needs to listen to us,” nurse Lyn Tirona said. “We are at the bedside. We are at the forefront of patient care.”
These pickets are informational and not a strike.
Kaiser also said that patient services and access have not been impacted.
