The fire was reported at about 8:42 p.m. after an auto fire ignited vegetation on a mid-slope area near the freeway, fire officials said.
LAFD initially positioned engines for structure defense and requested assistance from the Glendale Fire Department. Glendale’s brush response was later canceled after crews reported no wind in the area and said the bulk of the fire had been knocked down.
