The prep football season is well underway, with the first week of CIF Sac-Joaquin Section action in the books.
That leaves one important question: Who balled?
Here’s a peek at stat marvels from Week 1 of Sacramento-area high school football.
Lonzell McClanahan, Destiny Christian Academy: Made 12 tackles while and teammates Kurtis Brown and Stephen Hardy combined for 22 stops in a 28-12 win over Inderkum.
Deangelo Keys, Mira Loma: The senior quarterback completed 6 of 8 passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns, and he rushed 14 times for 286 yards and four scores in a 46-0 win over Valley in 8-man action.

Mateo Martinez, Roseville: Recorded a safety and helped lead a defensive charge that limited Antelope to 43 yards rushing on 20 carries in a 12-0 victory.
Robert Jackson III, McClatchy: Rushed 16 times for 239 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-37 win over River Valley of Yuba City.
Dylan Esten, Oak Ridge: Rushed 13 times for 61 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-26 win over Argyle of Texas. Teammate Nick Johnson passed for 298 yards, hitting Braxton Miller 10 times for 100 yards and Jack Granrud four times for 129 yards, including a 50 yard play.
Talon Gill, Pioneer: Completed 16 of 19 passes for 279 yards and a school-record six touchdowns, three to Julian Barajas and two to Jayden Deliska, in a 48-6 win over Davis in a battle of Yolo County schools. Pioneer opened its Woodland campus in 2003.
Josuah Pilgard, Foothill: The junior completed 27 of 34 passes for 344 yards and five touchdowns, two to Tijai Harbison, in a 34-28 win over Woodland Christian.
Cash Stevens, Whitney: Blocked a punt and had two interceptions on defense in a 22-6 win over West Park of Roseville to give coach Brian Brickey his first win as the Wildcats head coach.
EJ Cruz, Winters: Rushed for 36 yards, caught a touchdown, made 13 tackles and forced a fumble in a 21-0 win over Rio Vista. Teammate Ty Mariani made two interceptions for the Warriors.
Cohen Dwyer, Woodland: Caught seven passes for 124 yards and three touchdowns in a 39-30 win over Lindhurst, and he made four tackles and had an interception on defense.
King Mastin, Sacramento: Caught six passes for 120 yards and scored on an 80-yard fumble return in an 18-13 win over Sonoma Valley to give coach Josiah Johnson his first head-coaching victory at his alma mater.
Losi Asiata, Sutter: Rushed 14 times for 280 yards and four touchdowns and caught a 39-yard scoring strike from Ayden Hunt in a 49-28 win over Bishop Lynch of Texas.
Braden Davis and Alex Yang, Pleasant Grove: Both rushed for more than 100 yards in a 56-28 victory over Christian Brothers behind the blocking of Jacob Biggs and Mason Hill.
Amrye Shirley, Rio Americano: Had 12 tackles, five for loss and three sacks, in a 17-14 win over Stagg of Stockton. Teammate Ryan Read blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown, made five tackles and played left tackle.
Zayden Anderson, Tyrone Cooper, Louis Means, Rio Linda: Each did their share in a 28-21 win over Marysville. Anderson rushed for 100 yards and made eight tackles on defense, Cooper had a touchdown catch, made four tackles and intercepted two passes, and Means rushed for 132 yards, scored twice and made nine tackles.
Frank Cady, Highlands: Completed 8 of 10 passes for 270 yards and four touchdowns, two to Caleb Nelson, in a 54-0 win over North Tahoe. Cady also ran for a score.
EJ Coleman, Lua DeBerry and Nick Wegner, Folsom: The defensive stars were the difference in a 23-17 overtime win over Cardinal Newman with Coleman making 11 tackles, Wegner 18, and DeBerry blocked a late field goal attempt to force overtime.

Colton Ridgley, Ponderosa: Competed 14 of 21 passes for 213 yards and four touchdowns and ran for one in a 63-18 win over El Dorado in the annual Gold Pan game.
Kwanna Smith, Jesuit: Scored a touchdown on the ground, one by reception and by returning a punt into the end zone in a 33-14 win over Lincoln of Stockton.
Carson Schaffner, Bear River: The sophomore rushed 24 times for 213 yards and two touchdowns in a 26-20 win over Golden Sierra to give coach Dustin Smith his first victory as head coach of his alma mater.
Graeson Howard, Colfax: Rushed 17 times for 147 yards and three touchdowns and had four receptions for 91 yards in a 32-28 loss to Union Mine.
Parker Lively, Rocklin: The junior completed 15 of 23 passes for 179 yards and three touchdowns, two to Malachi Kendall, in a 46-7 win over Turlock.
Elijah Stevens, Oakmont: Completed 15 of 21 passes for 184 yards and fired a touchdown pass to Ocean Munoz in a 28-13 win over Bettye Davis East Academy of Alaska. Munoz had seven catches for 138 yards.
Braylon Robinson, Franklin: Completed 11 of 20 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns, two to Caden Bowers, in a 34-14 win over Chavez of Stockton.
