San Jose State heads west to take on Eastern Michigan and their high-powered offense led by quarterback Noah Kim.
Kim picked up right where he left off a year ago, as the 2025 MAC passing yards leader hung 279 yards and two touchdowns on Sacramento State in a 28-17 victory last week. The Spartans are coming off a 42-26 loss against USC, but San Jose State did score 23 of those points in the fourth quarter to build some momentum for this week.

The final score might not have been completely indicative of San Jose State’s performance last week, as USC was up 28-0 at halftime. With that said, the Spartans get to move down in weight class this week, but still have a stiff defensive test trying to stop Kim and a high powered offense.
The good news for San Jose State is that they didn’t really beat themselves last week; USC was just the better team. The Spartans only committed one penalty and didn’t turn the ball over, which bodes well for their attention to detail in the early part of this season.
This game might very well come down to who has the ball last, but the prospects of a high-scoring affair seem too tempting to ignore.
