Police announced on Friday that officers arrested a suspect linked to some of several burglaries committed at businesses in a 24-hour span earlier this week in midtown and downtown Sacramento.
The 46-year-old Sacramento man was arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with the downtown thefts, said Officer Anthony Gamble, a Sacramento Police Department spokesperson.
The arrested suspect was being held without bail Friday afternoon at the Sacramento County Jail. His arraignment hearing in Sacramento Superior Court had not yet been scheduled, jail records show.
Police said the break-ins occurred mostly in the early morning hours from late Monday through early Wednesday.
The burglaries were reported at as many as nine storefronts at the following locations:
1000 and 1100 blocks of 16th Street1700, 2200 and 2500 blocks of J Street600 block of 20th Street900 block of 11th Street200 block of Dos Rios Street
On Friday morning, officers on patrol downtown detained the suspect in the series of burglaries, Gamble said. Detectives questioned the suspect and then arrested him.
Gamble said the suspect was arrested in connection with burglaries at these locations:
900 block of 11th Street2100 and 2200 blocks of J Street1100 block of 16th Street200 block of Dos Rios Street
Gamble said detectives are continuing their investigation to determine whether the man arrested Friday is also responsible for the other reported burglaries.
