FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A couple was arrested in connection with attacking a victim’s car, the ex of one of the suspects, back in early August.
Fresno Police officers responded to a call that a woman was hitting the victim’s car on August 7th at around 1:15 a.m.
Police identified 35-year-old Justin Deger and 30-year-old Sophia Jacoby as the suspects.
The victim was in a previous relationship with Deger, and Jacoby was his current girlfriend.
Officers learned that the victim was eating near North Brawley and West Clinton Avenue when Deger and Jacoby arrived in their car.
They approached the victim, and the victim got in her car.
Police say Jacoby punched, kicked, and used a crowbar to hit the victim’s car.
Dreger did not stop her from attacking the car, and they both left the area.
As officers were with the victim, Dreger called the victim from a blocked number and told her that the police were at his place and to tell them to stop.
Deger then texted and called the victim, telling her that he would pay her $500 to drop all charges.
On August 10th, officers contacted Jacoby, and she was arrested without incident.
She faces charges of vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
On September 2nd, officers received an alert from an Automated License Plate Reader about Dreger’s car.
Officers conducted a traffic stop, and Dreger was arrested without incident.
Dreger faces charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and dissuading a witness.
