(TNND) — Pabst Brewing Co. is putting up to $20,000 on the line as it tries to track down a massive shipment of beer stolen from a Southern California distribution center.
The theft involved 1,602 cases of Pabst Blue Ribbon and nonalcoholic Old Milwaukee beer taken Aug. 17 from an Anheuser-Busch distribution center in Montclair, California, about 40 miles east of Los Angeles.
Police said the beer was stolen in two separate incidents on the same day.
In the first incident, police said about $45,000 worth of beer headed to Tucson, Arizona, was picked up but never delivered. About an hour later, police said someone using fake documents from a purported subcontracting company picked up another roughly $25,000 worth of beer.
Altogether, the stolen load weighed about 40,000 pounds and was valued at approximately $70,000.
In a post on TikTok, Pabst CEO Greig DeBow said the company wants the beer returned by Sept. 9. The company is offering up to a $20,000 reward for new information that leads to the recovery of the stolen beer.

The theft follows other high-profile food heists, including recent thefts of oysters, lobster and crabmeat in New England and more than 413,000 KitKat bars stolen in Europe.
