2 children dead in small plane crash in Fresno, reports say
FRESNO, Calif. —
Two children died and two others were hurt in a plane crash in Fresno on Saturday, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies, Fresno firefighters and officers with the Fresno Police Department responded to reports of a crash in the 7300 block of North Blythe Avenue, around 1:50 p.m.
They found a fixed wing single-engine airplane on fire atop the bluff of the San Joaquin River with four people onboard.
Two adults were taken to the hospital and two children were pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. The two adults are in critical condition.
The identities of the victims are still unknown, the sheriff’s office said.
The crash will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
