A pedestrian was killed by a Metro A Line train in Long Beach Saturday night.
Officers were dispatched at 8:52 p.m. to Long Beach Boulevard and 23rd Street about the incident, Long Beach police Lt. Jayson Torres told City News Service.
Fire department personnel determined the pedestrian was deceased at the scene, Torres said. Police didn’t immediately release the persons’ gender, age or why he or she was on the tracks.
Long Beach Boulevard was closed in both directions between 23rd and Hill streets, and the public was asked to avoid the area, Torres said.
An investigation was underway, he said.
