A man was detained following a stabbing and standoff Sunday that left one person injured, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of an assault involving a knife just before 4:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Dunbarton Circle. Responding officers found a man suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the suspect barricaded himself after the stabbing inside a residence for several hours. The department’s SWAT team and crisis negotiators responded and worked to peacefully resolve the situation, safely detaining suspect around 9:30 p.m.
