(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento is welcoming “Bodies – The Science Within,” a globally touring exhibition that allows visitors to see, feel and understand the human body in an immersive way, a spokesperson said.

The exhibition will display real, carefully and respectfully preserved human specimens, which will be presented for educational purposes. Guests will be able to explore the “intricate systems that sustain life and shape the human experience,” as the body’s functions, what it is made of and how its systems work together are examined, officials said.

The exhibition has been seen by more than five million people in more than 60 cities across Central and South America and Europe, according to the spokesperson.

It made its U.S. debut in Denver over the spring, marking Sacramento as the second U.S. stop.

“This exhibition marks an important milestone as Bodies – The Science Within makes its second U.S. stop in Sacramento,” Rand Levy, co-producer of Bodies – The Science Within, said. “We are excited to bring the U.S. tour to a city known for its curiosity, innovation, and cultural energy. This experience invites visitors to explore the human body in a way that is both educational and thought-provoking, offering a deeper understanding of how we live, function, and connect to the world around us.”

Guests will be able to explore galleries that showcase key biological systems, including respiration, the nervous system and more.

“Displays combine scientific information with visual presentation to help explain complex processes and provide a clearer understanding of human anatomy and physiology,” officials said.

The exhibit is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Oct. 2 to Nov. 29 at the Memorial Auditorium. Tickets range from $12 to $24 depending on age. Entry for children 4 years old and younger is free.

“Sacramento Memorial Auditorium has hosted major touring events for nearly a century, and we’re honored that Bodies – The Science Within chose us as its only California stop,” said Megan Van Voorhis, director of Convention & Cultural Services. “It’s a chance to bring new visitors into this historic building and continue the tradition of offering our community access to extraordinary experiences.”
