FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Three people were arrested after a police chase ended with the discovery of a tossed loaded gun on Monday morning.
Clovis Police officers attempted to pull a car over in the area of Barstow and Chestnut at around 11 a.m.
Police say the driver initially pulled over and handed over his driver’s license, then sped away.
Police chased the car but stopped for public safety concerns.
However, a Fresno police helicopter followed the car back to a home.
Before reaching the home, the driver tossed a loaded handgun with an illegal drum magazine out of the window that officers recovered.
The driver was identified as 22-year-old Tyric Herod.
Police officers obtained a warrant and searched the home, which revealed two additional illegal guns in the home and led to two arrests.
They were identified as 34-year-old Tyriq Robinson and 25-year-old Jada Herod.
They were all arrested and booked on gun-related charges.
