The Los Angeles Police Department Bomb Squad responds to a suspicious device found in Downtown Los Angeles. The device found near the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building closed nearby roads and disrupted train service Wednesday morning.
According to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson, the bomb squad was sent into the 200 block of East Temple Street around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, which was confirmed by KTLA.
The investigation went into Wednesday morning. The squad was seen using a bomb squad robot to investigate the pile of debris on the sidewalk. Several streets remain closed this morning by the Federal Building and near the 101 Freeway.
L.A. Metro says bus shuttles are replacing the A Line service as of 4:45 a.m. in response to the police activity between Little Tokyo/Arts District Station and Union Station. There is no confirmation on when the line service will reopen.
Once police determined there was no threat to the area, all streets reopened shortly after 5:00 a.m. this morning.
