BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a man who died in a collision involving two vehicles on Thursday in the area north of Arvin.
Esteban Flores Flores, 68, of Bakersfield, was driving a 2001 Honda Civic eastbound on Panama Road, west of Tejon Highway, at around 4:48 a.m. Sept. 3, according to officials.

At the same time, a 64-year-old man from McFarland was driving a 2007 Toyota Tacoma southbound on Tejon Highway at about 60 mph.
Flores allegedly drove through the intersection and collided with the Toyota, according to the California Highway Patrol. A stop sign controlled traffic of Panama Road but not the traffic of Tejon Highway.
Flores was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries and was taken to Kern Medical, officials said.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision.
