SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing evidence related to a shooting that left one woman dead and two others injured outside a TGI Fridays restaurant in Southfield on Friday, Sept. 4.
No charging decisions have been made, the prosecutor’s office said Wednesday (Sept. 9).
A preliminary investigation determined that both the shooter and the woman who was killed were carrying handguns during the dispute that preceded the shooting, according to the prosecutor’s office.
“We are working closely with the Southfield Police Department to determine exactly what happened Friday night,” Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald said. “Dozens of people were endangered by this shooting, and one woman lost her life. Gun owners have a responsibility to exercise good judgment and not settle disputes with gunfire.”
The prosecutor’s office did not announce any charges in connection with the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said they will review additional evidence and test results before deciding whether to charge anyone.
