The Navy says the San Diego based USS Theodore Roosevelt will carry more food and supplies as it readies for deployment to the Middle East.
The military says the supply problems on the USS Lincoln were caused by an extended deployment and damage to a key U.S. supply and logistics ports in Bahrain by Iranian forces.
The Navy says the Lincoln is headed back to San Diego and is expected to arrive in early October. The Roosevelt is scheduled to leave Naval Air Station North Island on deployment this month.
