Celebrate the end of summer by getting a closer look at the bustling Port of Long Beach.
Three free harbor tours will be offered on Saturday, Sept. 19, giving passengers rare, close-up views of one of the busiest U.S. seaports.
Tours are first-come, first-served, with no reservations required.
The 90-minute narrated excursions will provide insight on how the port impacts people and the economy. Tours will provide close-up views of some of the biggest ships in the world and learn about how the port is building for the future, with expectations of handling 20 million container units annually by 2050 while becoming the world’s first zero-emissions port. Participants are welcome to take photos of the machinery and local marine life.
The tours will be from 2 to 4 p.m., and will depart from Dock 4 near the Aquarium of the Pacific.
Parking at the Aquarium of the Pacific parking structure will be validated .
