Fresno City College freshman cornerback Bronson Williams is helping the Rams to a 2-0 start.
He has five tackles and one pass breakup in wins over Sierra and Foothill.
Williams, a St. Joseph-Santa Maria graduate, became a starter for the Josh Brown-led Rams team.
The Bee caught up with Williams before Fresno City’s game at City College of San Francisco on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
How would you say your season is going so far?
Bronson Williams: I would say that our season is going well so far. We have a lot of team chemistry, but as always there’s room to improve.
What have you seen from your teammates through two games?
BW: I’ve seen a lot of hard work pay off. We work hard every week, and it really shows on the field. We also have shown a lot of resilience, not folding when things don’t go our way.
What standard do you set for yourself for this upcoming game and beyond?
BW: I set the standard pretty high for myself. I want to play physical and make sure I do my 1 of 11.
Do you try to set an example for your teammates or set the tone?
BW: I always make sure to go all out in practice to encourage others to do the same.
How good can your defense be? How can you guys avoid any slip-ups?
BW: Our defense has a lot of potential; we have a lot of good players at every position, and as long as we communicate on the field, we can be even better.
