Aeon Biopharma Inc., an Aliso Viejo-based biopharmaceutical company, today announced positive results from a pilot stress test comparing its lead treatment to Botox ahead of a planned multi-lot comparability study.
The company’s ABP-450 treatment, a therapeutic to treat nervous system-related conditions, and Botox reacted similarly under thermal and oxidative stress, according to Aeon.
“In this pilot, ABP-450 and BOTOX® did not just look alike at the outset — they degraded along comparable pathways, at comparable rates, and with residues affected to a comparable degree,” Dr. Chad Oh, chief medical officer at Aeon, said in a statement.
Shares in Aeon were up nearly 1% to 23 cents apiece and an $11.8 million market cap (NYSE: AEON).
