A Fresno woman was killed Thursday night in a suspected DUI crash near Shaver Lake in Fresno County.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 7:15 p.m. on Highway 168, west of Littlefield Road.
According to CHP spokesperson Mike Salas, a 32-year-old Fresno man was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe west on 168 when he allowed the vehicle to leave the roadway, which traveled down an embankment and overturned several times.
A 19-year-old woman seated in the rear of the Tahoe was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 18-year-old Fresno man, seated in the front passenger seat of the Tahoe, was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Salas said the man was wearing a seat belt.
The suspected DUI driver, identified as Ricardo Arceo-Tapia, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury and death.
The crash remains under investigation.
