BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating an incident involving vehicle tampering and fuel theft in northeast Bakersfield.
BPD said that two suspects were seen tampering with a vehicle and stealing fuel on Aug. 27, around 4:15 a.m.
Law enforcement said the two suspects allegedly siphoned fuel from a vehicle that belongs to the United States Marine Corps Recruitment Center, located at 2625 Oswell St.
BPD said the two suspects fled the scene in an early 2000s Cadillac Escalade.

The department is describing the suspects as a man and a woman, both in their 40s. They said the male has a heavy build and was wearing a black hat and shirt and tan shorts.
BPD said the woman was wearing a black tube top and tan pants.
