BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The week that was our latest one featured a very active weather pattern for Southern California with several days of rainshower and thunderstorm activity breaking many daily rainfall records by large margins as moisture from former Hurricane Marie moved into the State.
The Los Angeles area received rain on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday which is remarkable for early September.
As if that wasn’t enough, when the sunshine finally came back it hit the moist air hard with extreme levels of mugginess on top of daily temperature records being broken as well. Bakersfield, while warm, wasn’t even as hot as Downtown LA on Wednesday!
The winds of change are arriving just in time for the weekend, which will be beneficial for those checking out the Wasco Rose Festival as a new North Pacific trough knocks the Desert Southwest ridge eastward.
