Pierce Brosnan and his wife, Keeley Shaye Smith, are leaving their $100 million California home. The James Bond star recently revealed that the couple will move after over 20 years in the luxurious home.
Brosnan shared the reason behind his decision with The Times: “We’ve been spared by the fires a few times now. But I think it’s time to move.” He continued, “Everything changes, everything falls apart.”
Like other Californians, Mother Nature can make living on the coast a challenge. Brosnan added, “We live by the body of earth’s water on a fault in a ring of earthquakes. That creates fear.”

The home, known as The Orchid House, was inspired by the couple’s 1997 globe-trotting adventure to Thailand, during which Brosnan filmed Tomorrow Never Dies. According to a 2020 episode of Architectural Digest’s ‘On the Market,’ the 12,500-square-foot estate features hand-carved wooden doors, an outdoor saltwater pool, a private screening room, a spa with indoor and outdoor access, and 117 feet of Malibu beachfront property. But that’s not all.
Brosnan’s orchid-filled mansion (hence the name The Orchid House) also has Brazilian teak floors, a double living room, two covered outdoor seating areas, a gas fire pit, crystal-quartz kitchen countertops, teak cabinetry, double range ovens, and a romantic bedroom adorned with scissor-truss ceilings and two fireplaces.
As if it couldn’t get better than the lengthy list of amenities, the palatial estate also boasts an over-the-top primary bathroom (there are 14 bathrooms in total), featuring onyx-inlaid teak floors and an oversized claw tub. And if you don’t feel like soaking in the tub, you could always enjoy the massive steam room, hot and cold plunge pools, or dual saunas.
Brosnan and his wife initially listed the Malibu property in 2020, but took it off the market in 2021. According to recent reports, they have relisted The Orchid House.
