The Fresno woman killed in a suspected DUI crash was identified as 19-year-old Arianna Perez.
The crash happened at 7:15 p.m. Thursday on Highway 168, west of Littlefield Road.
The California Highway Patrol said they suspect a 32-year-old Fresno man was driving under the influence when the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe left the roadway on Highway 168, west of Littlefield Road, and traveled down an embankment and overturned several times.
Perez was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 18-year-old Fresno man, seated in the front passenger seat of the Tahoe, was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. CHP said the man was wearing a seat belt.
The suspected DUI driver, identified as Ricardo Arceo-Tapia, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury and death.
The crash remains under investigation.
Perez’s sister, Amiyres, described her sister as “the most alive person I know always loud, always arguing and always complaining.”
“We would just like to let her rest peacefully and beautifully,” Amiyres Perez wrote on GoFundMe.
