A man is in critical condition after being shot following an argument that began at a Sacramento Sam’s Club, deputies said.
SACRAMENTO, Calif — One person was critically injured in what law enforcement calls a “car-to-car shooting” after an argument that started between two parties at a Sacramento Sam’s Club, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. Wednesday in the roadway of the 7900 block of East Stockton Boulevard.

Responding deputies found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies applied a tourniquet and chest seal to the victim’s injuries at the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
The sheriff’s office said four people were in the vehicle, including two adults and two children. The adult man was the only person hit by gunfire.
The sheriff’s office said the suspect vehicle’s male driver fired several rounds into the victim’s vehicle. Investigators said a bullet also struck a car seat where a baby was sitting. The baby was unharmed, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office said the bullet missed the baby by inches.
Deputies said the argument started at the Sam’s Club near Power Inn and Calvine roads. Both parties then traveled to East Stockton Boulevard, where the shooting occurred.
Investigators have not determined what the original argument was about.
The sheriff’s office urged people involved in an altercation to leave the situation, drive away and contact law enforcement rather than engage with someone.
The sheriff’s office did not release a suspect description or information about the suspect vehicle. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
