Cong Takes Charge As Bears Break Into Top 10 At Sahalee

SAMMAMISH, WA – The California men’s golf team made a major jump up the leaderboard Sunday, climbing from 12th to 9th place to finish inside the top 10 at the Sahalee Players Championship.

Redshirt junior Sihao Cong led the Bears in round 3, after carding an eagle and four birdies, ending the round at even par. Cong finished the tournament tied for 20th, paving the way for the Golden Bears’ comeback.

Freshman Callixte Alzas also turned in an impressive performance, finishing tied for 17th overall to lead Cal throughout the tournament.

After opening the tournament in 12th place, the Bears continued to fight their way up the leaderboard throughout the final round. Cal’s strong finish secured a top-10 team finish at the Sahalee Players Championship.
