Outdoor dining could soon be returning to Chula Vista.
If a new ordinance is approved, it would streamline the process for businesses to set up outdoor dining across the city.
Two years ago businesses were ordered to remove parakeets that popped up during the pandemic. The city said parking spaces were needed.
Mayor John McCann tells NBC 7 the new ordinance would make it easier for businesses to expand their seating on sidewalks, and add an economic boos to the city. A voting date on that ordinance has yet to be announced.
