OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A Farmington man has been extricated back to Michigan after being arrested in Pennsylvania for allegedly not making a child support payment for nearly two years.
47-year-old Christopher Paul Gassman is employed as an over-the-road truck driver, according to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Though, the defendant has allegedly not made a payment since July 2024.
The prosecutor’s office says that Gassman allegedly owes $52,720.09.
“A child support debt represents resources denied to children,” said Prosecutor Karen McDonald. “No one is allowed to run away from this obligation, and we will hold parents accountable when they refuse to financially support their children.”
Failure to Pay Child Support is punishable by up to four years in prison and/or a $2,000 fine.
