BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A woman suffered severe injuries after an unidentified pickup truck struck her on Niles Street and drove away from the scene late Friday night.
The California Highway Patrol said on Friday, September 11, 2026, at around 11:40 p.m., officers were called to the area of 6465 Niles Street.
CHP said a preliminary investigation found that an early or late-model 1990s pickup truck struck a 46-year-old woman.
CHP said after the crash, the unknown driver of the unidentified pickup truck drove away from the scene before officers arrived.
The woman was taken to Kern Medical with severe injuries.
CHP said as of Monday morning, there are no new updates on the status of the driver.
