Maya Cinemas at Campus Pointe in Fresno has shut down and is being replaced by Galaxy Theatres.
Galaxy Theatres, which has locations across five states, is expanding its operations in the Central Valley, where the company got its start.
Driving the news: Maya Cinemas shut its doors at Campus Pointe last Friday after showing movies at that location for over a decade.
Maya Cinemas’ location in Salinas also shut down.
The company did not say why it is closing, simply announcing on its website that it has been a privilege to serve its customers.
What we’re watching: Campus Pointe announced that Galaxy Theatres plans to transition the theater with minimal disruption to daily operations but did not say when the new theater would open.
Galaxy Theatres will upgrade and enhance the theater to bring it in line with its other theaters.
